How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I am no longer going to keep hiring farm land as I have got back mine that I had given out in exchange for money to treat my children when they had got broken. I will use this land to farm and increase food production that will sustain my family both commercially and subsistancely. Before, I used to hire land for farming whereby you either benefit from hiring when season is good or not when it's a bad season.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money that has enabled me to get back my land that I will now use to farm and increase production, hence sustaining my family. GiveDirectly has actually maitained it's promises and therefore, it has really done nothing bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent Ugx 600000 of my second transfer on getting back land that I had given out in exchange for money I needed to treat my children as they had got broken at that time. I then bought a bull Ugx 880000 I then used the balance to cater for my family needs such as food, and clothes.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The first biggest difference in my daily is that my family dresses decently. Secondly I am happy because I was able to pay part of my debts and I retained my farmland. Thirdly, we now have two decent meals compared to the past when we would struggle to have one meal in a day.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was awakened to loud shouts of jubilation from the neighborhood that day when the money was sent. When I woke up to check my phone, I was amazed by the mobile money message. That was the happiest moment in my life because this money was going to pay my accumulated debts and support my family.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 1100000 on paying my debts and I spent UGX 300000 to clear my grand mother's medical bills. Then I spent the balance of UGX 300000 to purchase clothes and household items and food for the family.
