What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my second transfer on buying iron sheets, nails and timber to renovate my house. Its roof was leaking and dilapidated. I was always in fear because it would easily be blown away by winds. I am currently happy that through this transfer, my roof is now stable and I do not have to worry of rains. I also bought a metallic door and fixed it on my house since the one I was using was broken. I am planning to buy a heifer to keep in my homestead using the remaining amount.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My house' roof was dilapidated and leaking during rains because I couldn't replace it with new iron sheets for many years. However, when I received this money, I managed to buy new iron sheets, timber and nails for the renovation of my house. It would have taken me years to accomplish this had it not been the support from GiveDirectly. My house is currently in a stable state, courtesy of GiveDirectly. I am now at peace even when it rains, which is the biggest difference in my daily life.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received a message on my phone early in the morning. I was curious to know who could have sent it. On checking to confirm the sender, I was really excited when I realised that I had received my first transfer from GiveDirectly. I thanked them since the money would help me in renovating my house which has been my greatest desire.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I use to operate a small business of vending dry fish in the village but this filled due to inadequate capital to run it . My desire has been to restart my business and to purchase a secondhand motorbike to assist my in transportation. Receiving this money means realization of my dream since I am planning to invest $750 in my business. The remaining amount will aid in paying fees arrears of $ 180 for my 2 children who are in secondary.
