My life has improved because with this cash transfer, I was able to buy cows for paying bride price for my son's wife. In addition, I'm now adhering to my HIV/AIDs drug because I can afford to have all meals in a day. Before, I could not help my son pay bride price and take my drugs well on time.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have a grown up son who needs a woman but there are no resources to marry one. So, when I receive this money, I will use part of it for marriage arrangements of my son. I will contribute to his dowry. I will also build a low cost iron sheets house because the one I'm currently living in is being destroyed by termites.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I'm free after doing the day's chores like garden work and grazing.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is illness. I was diagnosed with HIV and this has caused me frequent attacks of malaria and other tropical diseases which at the end are costly to treat.
