How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I fixed fufu to support my six children in school. The difficulties caused by the rain during the rainy season has caused a serious stress for me and my family because when I fixed the fufu, it can't get dry to reach business quality. My children do not end most of the school years in school because of this situation. We are living in an unfinished house that I have been fighting hard to complete but there is no way out because of poverty. The money generated from the fufu is not really enough to pay my children's school fees and and plaster my house that I have built. We have been sleeping on a very flat mattress that made our night sleep very uncomfortable. Due to this reason, when I receive my first transfer, I bought one mattress and pay my children's school fees. I also invested some of the transfer into agriculture activities. I bought a pair of goats raise for business purpose. The remaining portion of the transfer, I used it for for my children's uniform.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly really mean well for us because we were really suffering like we are not humans. But since the coming of GiveDirectly our suffering has gone down and we are developing ourselves and our towns and villages. If there is anything that is not done well by GiveDirectly, I do not have any knowledge on that. I just want to say thank you to Givedirectly for the future given to us.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I receive my recent transfer, I used portion of it to pay for my children's tuitions and their uniforms. I also bought a pair of goats to raise for business to earn more money in the future. Some of the other portion was used on mattress because we have been sleeping on a very flat mattress. The remaining portion of it, I used it to buy cement to plaster my house to have a decent future home to stay with my family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The day I received the alert on my phone from GiveDirectly, was one of the happiest day of my life. When I heard the shouting from my neighbours concerning the transfer I too joined the celebrations and we literally spend the whole night outside. The joy and excitement bought to us through GiveDirectly is overwhelming.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before receiving payment from GiveDirectly, I am a cassava farmer. My family source of income was from the sales of cassava, and this was always spend on our daily needs. For this reason, plastering my entire house was never possible. Now with this transfer I am planning on buying cement and sand to plaster my house completely. With this new plan I feel very delighted knowing that my uncompleted house will soon become a new and better house.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Before receiving the transfer from GiveDirectly, I have been planning to plaster my house ,but raising the money for the work was always met with lot of difficulties. However, with my recent transfer, I am planning on plastering my entire house. For this reason, a good portion of the money is kept to buy the cement and sand for the plastering. Furthermore, I used some of the to pay my children school fees. A very big thanks to GiveDirectly for this life changing opportunity.
