How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I did not receive these transfers I would have been in a lot of problems. This is because I am very old and I cannot work but with these transfers I am happy and my children are also happy. They go to school happy because they have had a proper meal in the morning. I am very grateful to GiveDirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
This organisation has done a very good job. Many people have been helped through GiveDirectly. My village has been transformed since a lot of people are building houses.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the first transfers to build a house for myself and now the second transfer I have bought iron sheets and bricks so that I can build a house for my children.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money means alot to me and my children..I will use the money to maintain my house by buying cement for my floor and window and door flames.. I would also like to use the money to pay school fees for my grandchildren. Since I was unable to finish school,it is my ambition for my grandchildren to finish school..I will also buy school uniform and other necessities needed for school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I'm the happiest in the evening mostly after I have had supper with my grandchildren..
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge has been that of not having money to buy food and other necessities such as beddings and clothes..This is because mostly I use funds generated from selling my crops so this year business hasn't gone so well and as a result I had less money to sustain my household..
