What did you spend your second transfer on?
Along with my husband, I spent most of my second transfer Ugx 1500000 on buying iron sheets, timber, nails, door, window, that I used to roof and fit my house that I had started constructing using the first transfer. I then used the balance of the transfer to buy a bed and food to feed the laborers and my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money that I have used to build my permanent house. However, GiveDirectly has done nothing bad as it has only brought smiles to people's faces in my community by giving them money that they used as they pleased (unconditional transfers).
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Building my permanent house that is cost effective when it comes to maintaining as its done once, has made my life different in that I am relieved when it comes to buying grass to keep renovating my former grass thatched house which was expensive to maintain. In the past, I had to look for grass to renovate my house almost every year in a far village as there was no near by place that I could get it.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have been sleeping in a dilapidated house which was leaking and immediately I received my transfer which was Ugx 1700000, I decided to construct a iron roofed house. There would be no place on earth I could have got this money to put up such a structure on my own. When I receive my last transfer I will use it to complete plastering, Flooring, putting windows and doors.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I became so happy when I received my first transfer from Give Directly because I never believed it could happen. I kept on jumping, ululating and Jubilating upon receiving this transfer.I began planning how to set up my house which I will remember Give Directly my whole life. I thank Give Directly so much for this support because even if I did farming I can not generate these amounts of money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The greatest change in my life is joy for seeing a newly constructed house in my compound. Immediately I complete this house I will move from grass thatched house to a iron roof house.
