What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent most of my transfer to buy iron sheets which I will in roofing of my new house. I restocked my salon and shoe selling business which were on the verge of collapsing and also bought one and a half of maize for my family's consumption.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that my two business are stocked and doing and now I can afford to take care of my family with the profits I earn from my businesses.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well by sending recipients cash transfers as promised and directly to Mpesa account which is safe and more convenient.

I spent my second transfer on purchasing a bag of maize for the family consumption, paid hospital bills for my child who was sick and spent the larger percentage of the amount on buying three bulls to help in preparing my parcel of land early enough.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I nolonger dig using my hands because I managed to purchase three bulls that help to prepare my parcel of land early enough.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Firstly, we intend to use part of the transfer to buy five cows. Two of them we intend to pay as dowry to my parents, and the remaining three would help in provision of milk for family use in the future. Secondly, we plan to spend another part of the transfer to build a small house next to our gate, where I plan to carry out my hairdressing business because currently, I'm doing it in the open. Lastly, we plan to use the remaining amount to buy a second-hand motorcycle for my husband to do motorcycle taxi, to improve our income.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I'm proudest of is having bought a chicken with savings from my hairdressing business. I now have so many chickens that I have been selling some of them to get some income.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is low income, which is not enough to provide for the basic needs of my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I am attending to my clients and, with anticipation of getting some income to buy food for my family.
