Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
For the past six years, I have been married but not able to pay dowry. This is because of my low income from casual jobs here at the village. Both my parents and my in-laws have always urged me to pay dowry and I have always felt it's long overdue. I had prayed and even tried going for loans for the same but it has never been possible. When I received this transfer, that was my priority hence I judt did thatr for peace.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received this money, I was very happy. This is because it was a dream come true for me. I have tried by all means to raise such amkount of money but since I do not have a stable source of income, I have not been able to.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent the whole of my transfer to buy cows which I used to pay dowry for my wife. It has been six years since we got married and due to my low income from casual work which is also not consistent, I have not been able to raise enough money for the same. When I received this transfer, it was a relief for me as my biggest burden was solved. Thanks to Give Directly.
