How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been before because, I am currently a poultry farmer something that I had dreamed of becoming but I lacked resources to implement. My family are enjoying the comfort of a bigger and spacious house as compared to the small shelter we had before. I look around my home and all I see is transformation thanks to GD.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my sincere opinion, I have not recorded any thing that Give directly has done that can be regarded as bad or negative. All I see is good deeds of helping the community in improving their living standards which is very commendable.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my second transfer, I decided to implement my poultry project. I had initially built a poultry house with the first transfers I received. So I went ahead and bought chickens for the purpose of rearing. With the balance left I bought iron sheets to facilitate the construction of a better and bigger house for my family.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is the fact that I am able to have a place I call my own home. My family is peaceful and relaxed knowing that the holidays will no longer be a nightmare anymore where we are forced to look for a place to stay. My family will also have adequate income from the poultry business that I was able to put up thanks to GD. I can say GD has brought a transformation in my family and we are forever grateful.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was 7 o'clock in the morning when I received the message indicating that I had received some amount of money from GD. As much as I was expecting this cash from GD I was very happy receiving it. This was the begging of transformation in my home. I pictured my family in the new home not having to relocate every holiday like nomads without a home. I shared the news with my wife and we rejoiced together.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Upon receiving my recent transfer I decided to expand my poultry farming. Initially, I had a few birds but they had no shelter so, I first bought building materials and built a spacious poultry house, bought more hens and bought feeds that would take them for at least a month. This project will help me generate income for my family. Having done that, I used the entire remaining amount to build a house for my family. This is because before the transfers were sent I used to live in a neighbor's home and doubled up as a caretaker for the longest time now. I was uncomfortable because whenever the owner traveled back home from the city for the holidays my family was rendered homeless. This was very frustrating hence I was motivated to build myself a home.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money makes me so happy. I do poultry business though in a small scale. I will use my first transfer to expand this bussines so that it may generate more income that I can use to cater for my family's needs like food and clothing and even repair my house at the village.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am sleeping after a hard days work .
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of a stable job. I am a casual worker and the jobs I do are never guaranteed. This therefore means that my income is not guaranteed always. It becomes so difficult to provide for my family especially on those days that I do not go to work and this makes me sad.
