How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is different from how it was in that I do not depend on casual jobs to earn a living. I started planting tomatoes and vegetables which has been life-transforming. Nowadays, I can easily take care of my primary and secondary needs easily. I feel like a responsible parent unlike before where I could struggle to handle my responsibilities
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to plant trees. I want to start buying the tree seedlings. I plan to sell some of them in order to get income that will help me in hiring people who will help in planting the remaining seedlings. Most of my friends are doing this business and I have seen them earn good money. Since most people are not into this business, there is a possibility that it will do well considering that I have people who will guide me on how to handle the dynamics of this business.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is having a good and a better plan for my future. I decided to plant 30 banana seedlings. This is an investment for me because after two years, I will be selling them in the market and I would not have to struggle to do odd jobs to earn a living. In my old age, I want to have a good plan for my family because I do not want to see them suffer again. We have struggled almost all our lives, I had to come up with a plan to change this situation.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the next six months is to have a permanent strategic plan for my unemployment. I want to start planting bananas and trees. I will be selling the seedlings to earn a living as I wait for the selected few mature ones. I want to start selling timber in the next few years. I also want to also start a poultry farm for my wife. She has an interest in poultry keeping. I know that with these activities, our living standards will improve for good.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I no longer engage in casual labor in order to earn a living. I am glad that I no longer strain my self doing the tiresome jobs and earning peanuts. The worst part was that I couldn't quit because I did not have any other source of income. I thank Give Directly because this is not the situation anymore. I started a few projects that are already generating good profits
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My next goal is to plant trees. I chose to do this project because very few people see the value of having them. The rate at which we are cutting them down is a clear warning that a few years from now we will have depleted some of our forests and the demand for trees will be very high. I feel it is the best investment because it conserves the environment and it also has economic value if used sustainable.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I was able to invest in farming. I managed to buy farm inputs which I could not afford previously. I was also able to hire labor and plant on time. I normally use cow dung from my farm because I couldn't afford the modern fertilizers. It is a good type of manure but it doesn't have some nutrients that would help plants flourish. I believe that this time I will get a bumper harvest because I had all the necessary resources. In addition to this, I also bout a few household items. Some of these Items were only considered for the rich. I am glad I was also able to afford a few
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months since I will have started the tree plantation project. This is a future investment for my family. I like this idea because the kind of species I grew to take time to grow but grows back again even after they have been cut. This will be my small contribution to the conservation of the environment and also earn a living by selling them. This will help me live peacefully knowing my grand children's' future is covered.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different than it was four months ago because I can easily pay school fees for my child who is currently enrolled in secondary school. Prior to the coming of GiveDirectly, and being enrolled in the program, it was extremely hard to raise school fees since the kind of job I was doing could only help me obtain food for my household.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal in the next four months is to plant some 500 trees within my piece of land. This will help me raise some money for my future children's education. I will also be able to sell some and be able to earn some money. Lastly, the presence of my trees besides my compound will make my compound cool and attractive to passers-by.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months preceding the current transfer, the biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been relieved from hard labor. In the past, life was hard and I had no option but to continue doing hard labor for my neighbors in order to support my family. Nowadays, I am always assured of the monthly transfers thus I moderately do casual labor for other people.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to enroll my son to an electrical course in one of the colleges with a good reputation within my county. This will make him the right knowledge and skills that will help him to earn a decent life in the future. When he succeeds in his studies, we shall be able to remember this as one of the noble investment we must have made with the GiveDirectly's transfers.
