What does receiving this money mean to you?
My long term plan is investing in livestock farming using this money. I will invest in mainly goats and chicken so that it can ease my burden of paying school fees. For the first transfer , I will use 1200 KES to but food but beginning my second transfer, I will start buying the livestock. One young goat costs around 2500 KES. Buying a goat and a few chicken every month will help me achieve my goal.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Last week, we received relief food from Kenya Red Cross Society. This brought me happiness because getting money to buy food has been very difficult in the recent months. At least I have had a solution for the next few weeks. They provided 10 kgs of rice and 10 kgs of beans as well.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Without sufficient rain in this area, it becomes difficult for me to make ends meet. This is because farming is my main source of livelihood. Rain not only solves the problem of scarcity of food and water but also earns me extra income to take my children to school and satisfy other needs as well. The last time we had a better harvest was two years ago.
