Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to start a grain business from what I have been saving monthly. I have planned for this for a while and I will soon start it.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I was able to pay school fees for my children. food while still managing to provide the basic needs. Money is hard to come by especially now that we sell our produce at a low price. It would have a big struggle for me to meet all these needs were it not for GiveDirectly. The transfers also empowered me to save and I would soon be starting a business using the transfers.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to have started a grain business that I have long dreamed of. Proceeds from the business will help me look after my family well. I will now be able to help my spouse on some household needs. The business will also keep me busy while being a source of income for my family. Right now I am only doing subsistence farming, so I want to like diversify.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My happiness as a mother is to always see my children have better access to their daily basic needs and get a good environment to build their future thus I always struggle to meet their daily goals. My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I feel empowered by Give Directly to do more of my work than before. I do better farming that has improved our food production which has not only reduces our daily expenditure but has also made us have enough food. I have bought a heifer that I see it as an added asset in our family. With GiveDirectly monthly transfers, I have found it easy providing for my family daily basic needs unlike when I used to rely on unreliable casual jobs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I spend most of my time at home since I do not have a formal form of employment. I wish to start poultry farming in the next four months since it is affordable for me to put up. I prefer this because it will keep me engaged and also serve as a source of income.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I work hard to make sure that I meet my daily household basic needs in order to see my family happy and healthy. I primarily depend on casual jobs and subsistence farming to provide for my family. Due to the scarce resource, I always find it hard to raise a living for my family. The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding my current transfer is the heifer I bought using part of the transfer and this has given me hope of better life since soon I will not be spending on milk, will have calves from to sell in case of any financial need arising. I am so happy that I also have an asset to take pride in that could have come if it was for GiveDirectly.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life in the next six months to have greatly changed in that I will have started poultry farming thus will have eggs for both household consumption and sales. I expect to be saving some money for any more investments or financial needs arising in my family. I am hopeful that in the next six months my heifer to be about to calf and this will always be my happiness.

My new goal for the next four month is to save in the merry go round that we have in our village. I intend to buy the required building materials with the saving and cement the floor of my house. This will reduce the dust that is predisposing my children to respiratory diseases occasionally.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four month is to save the money in the merry go round that we have in our village to enable me to buy materials to cement the floor of my house. This plan will reduce the dust that is exposing my children to respiratory diseases.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have adopted the saving practices through saving in a merry go round group that we have started in our village. With the savings from the group, I have bought a heifer which could not have been possible because of my meager income. Therefore owning a heifer has given me hope because I know that in the near future I won't be spending much on buying milk when it gives birth as I do at the moment
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I shall be self-employed through starting a grocery business at a center nearby with the saving from the merry go round group. This business will generate a daily income to finance the additional needs for my family.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life in poverty alleviation unlike before where I used to lack the most basic needs, by then my husband had no capital to do business and there was drought, therefore, we could not rely on onion and maize farming as a source of livelihood.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
By the 6th month, I will have maize business, the money I get out of it will enable me to buy a small piece of land to expand my onion planting business and from there paying my children's school fees would be much easier since more land means more onion and more money from the sale of onions.
