Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
My husband had just left headed to the market when I heard the SMS notification alert. I was so happy when I noticed GD had sent the first transfer. I immediately called my husband who came home as fast as he could. First thing I wanted to do was pay for my whole family's health insurance, which I did the very same day I received LS1. I also paid a debt I had and rere-built the part of my house that had collapsed.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since I received LS1, I can easily afford food for my family and we are way happier since we received the first transfer. We needed health insurance and were able to pay the whole family's health insurance. I had never thought we would be able to reconstruct the fallen off part of our house. I thank GD for sending us this transfer.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Upon receiving LS1, I paid 27 $ for my family's health insurance, I bought food worth 50 $, spent 90 $ to re-build the part of my house that had caved in and paid a 100 $ debt that I had. Paying for my family's health insurance and paying the long overdue debt that I had were what I wanted to focus on when I received my first transfer.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I will rebuild my house with $400, I will save for my children in Rwanda social security board (EjoHeza) $50, I will pay schoolfees of my children who has droped out of school $100 , and I will use the rest to feed my family
What is the happiest part of your day?
I have managed to pay $24 health insurance for my family, and two of my children have managed to build their own house, they are ready to start their own family
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Between 1995-2016, my husband was working in a mining company, at least he was able to get $30 per month, but now the life had changed too bad, my child was dropped out of school when she was 16 years old because I can't afford her school fees when she was in her second year of high school. I have sold all my 2 cows in order to pay my debt in bank, and because there was no fertlizers, I was not able to get enough yield to feed my family. I used to have a small business of selling livestocks (sheeps and goats) in 20221 but now that business failed because of using all my investment of 200$ in feeding my family and paying schollfees of my children
