Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so grateful for the transfer I received. The money came at the right time. I had lost my husband and the money comforted during preparations.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My house is now looking very nice unlike how it used to look before the transfer. I managed to buy new curtains. I also have a nice sleeping place such that I have a bed a mattress. It feels very good to sleep on a mattress. It terms of hunger, I am secured because I have bought enough food. I am a widow and the money is helping me to buy my day to day needs. I am so grateful to GD for the transfer well received.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have benefited a lot from the money I received. A certain organisation built me a house but things were not good. I had no sleeping place, but the money helped me in buying beddings such as a duvet, a bed which costed MK 37 000 and a mattress. I also used the money to buy school uniforms for my children. I had no food in the house, the money enabled me to buy 6 bags of maize for food processing. My husband passed on some days ago, I also used the money during funeral commemoration (Sadaka). I have saved part of the money to buy my day to day needs.
