How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed because I have manged to pay school fees on time. My children are now very happy because this term they have not been chased away from school. Secondly, I have got a companion (wife) who does household functions compared to before when I did a lot of work by myself since I was a single parent.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion , GiveDirectly has done well by helping with money which has enabled me pay school fees for my four children and also pay bride price for my wife. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought 2 goats, a sheep, food, household goods ( mattress), repaired motorbike, paid bride price and transport.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life has changed for the better in that, I have been in position to pay dowary for my wife and this has given me respect from my in laws. Furthermore, I was able to pay my children's school fees in time. Previously, I paid my chidrens fees late that made them to be sent back home often.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer, became happy because I knew that I would be in position to pay part of the dowary for my wife and children's school fees.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 800,000 of my first transfer to pay my children's school fees. In addition, I paid dowary for my wife and bought food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will build a simple commercial house where I can put up a shop when I gather my capital. I will also buy oxen and some cows for milk production. This will boost my household income because I will sell the milk and hire out my bulls for ploughing purposes.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon because I am always free and it gives me enough time to play with my children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my is bringing up my children as a single father. It has not been easy because I don't have enough money to cater for their basic needs like education, medical care, good meals and clothing.
