How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The cash transfers have empowered me to acquire Livestock (3 cows and 1 bull) which I intend to give my in-laws as bride price . Previously , I could not perform the cultural function because I had no Livestock.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done well, by supporting with cash transfer which has enabled me to acquire Livstock ( 3 cows and a bull).GiveDIrectly has not done anything wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought building materials ( 1 trip of bricks and iron sheets). There is a balance which I'm planning to spend on building my permanent house.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The big difference in my life now is that I have my own cows which I bought using the transfer and am already enjoying milk. I did not have hope of getting these cows because the little money I got was spent on handling emergencies like sickness.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer, I felt happy in my heart and I felt at peace.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for buying two cows at UGX 900,000. I hired land for one year at UGX 100,000. I bought five trips of bricks at UGX 700,000.

Receiving this money means that I will be in position to pay dowry.

The happiest part of the day is towards lunch time when i have come back from brick-making and start listening to the radio.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship is having no clear source of income for my family's well-being.
