Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal in the next four months is to pool enough finances to enable me to construct a shop of my own. This will enable me to add more goods for sale leading to increased earnings. It will also cut down the cost I normally incur in paying for rest space in the current shop. I believe this move will greatly improve my family wellbeing
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Being a vegetable farmer, I have been selling my vegetables to middlemen, The income I have been generating hasn't been much and sometimes I ended up getting a loss. In the last four months, I decided to partner with one of my neighbours who own a kiosk and through that, I have so far managed to sell my vegetables directly to consumers. This has really enabled me to earn more as compared to before. The income from it has really enabled me to meet my daily needs. Currently, I no longer strain so much doing casual labour
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation is that my living standards will improve. I believe my income sources will have increased especially from my vegetable business. I also believe that I will have made a great step towards the construction of my vegetable kiosk. It is always safe to face life with more than one source of income. I believe in the next six months, my life, as well as my family wellbeing, will have greatly improved

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it would have been in that we live a more happy life and that I have plans that I know if well executed would really make a good fortune. I am happy that no longer lack the basic items in our house, thanks to Give Directly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to complete building a small kiosk that I have already started. Once I have completed, I would start a small retail business that would be an alternative source of income. I am determined to finish building the kiosk because this is the only hindrance I currently have from starting the business. I have hopes of reaping much from it because there is only a handful of such business around and there would be little competition around here which means the chances of the shop getting huge profits and succeeding is very high. All in all, I thank Give Directly for enabling me to start building the shop in the first place.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am no longer worried in life. The kind of peace I am experiencing at the moment is priceless. I used to have sleepless nights thinking about how I would take care of my daily needs. To add on that I have a school going child who I always felt bad when they could send her home due to lack of school fees. I am glad that I am now able to comfortably pay school fees and still meet my other daily needs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to finish putting up a retail business that is already ongoing. I have always wanted an alternative source of income to add to the income I get from farming. The main aim of this is to ensure that I have adequate funds exhaustively provide for my family and improve our living standards. I want something that will act as a backup plan for my finances since farming can be unpredictable due to the unstable weather patterns.

The fact that I already paid my children's school fees is a testimony that my life is much different. When we started receiving these transfers, I moved my children to a better school where they get more quality education. This involves paying more fees and I am glad the transfers really helps me pay the school fees.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am able to take care of my family's daily needs without overworking myself. My children can now eat well. Before we started receiving the transfer, I had to look for casual labor, which in many cases was hard to find and really work hard in order to provide for them. There are those days that I was not lucky to get a job and we will would have to live with the little that I got. Now we have the food security with the transfers.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life an that of my family in the next six months or so to improve in terms of the lifestyle that we live. I want to be abit more financially stable so as to take good care of my family. I also want to be having an extra source of income that will help me meet the goal of financial stability. We want to live a quality life generally.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship in my life is when I planted maize and I used a lot of money to buy fertilizers and seeds, in the middle of the season there was an outbreak of maize disease which destroyed all the crops. That year I got no yields at all and hence I lackedto feed my family and money to pay school fees for my children
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the evening when I'm done with my casual work and I have been paid, this is the only time I'm having free time to be with my friends. I enjoy their company as it make me relax and happy
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to use my transfer start poultry farming and also use the remaining amount to buy fertilizers for my tea farm
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
In 2016 I planted maize 1/4 acres which I got high yields and the maize demand was so high- double the normal market price. This ensured that my family got enough food throughout the year and also earned me enough money to pay school fees for my children. This is the achievement I am proudest of.
