How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to complete the renovation of my house and keep my children in school. After I received the money from GiveDirectly, I use portion of it to renovate our house and portion was used to the children's school fees. I am so happy that what I needed most through the cash transfers from GiveDirectly I have now.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I think by coming to check whether the cash that was transferred reached the recipient and that the recipient was able to cash out his or her transfer is one of the important things I remember GiveDirectly for. In addition I also think by allowing me to decide what to do with the money given me is commendable on the part of the organization. Absolutely nothing wrong I have seen on the part of the organization.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to pay a carpenter to replace the thatch roof with planks and zinc. It has been really difficult for me to pay my children's school fees but through this last transfer I was able to pay my children's school fees in full for the first time. Lastly I was able to buy some provisions for the house.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have started my house project that needs to be completed. Therefore, when I received my recent transfer, I purchased additional 2 bundles of zinc to roof my house. Moreover, portion of my money was saved to be used as compensation for contractors working on my house project. I feel so relieved at the moment. My life has improved tremendously.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly as an integrity NGO has been very honest in delivering cash to poor people like us. I see nothing that GiveDirectly is not doing quite well. It is a privilege for me to be a part of this project.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My major priority at the moment is to complete my house project. Hence, I used a huge portion of my transfer to buy 2 bundles of zinc ($21,000LD) for my new house. Moreover, the balance portion of my transfer was saved to be used as compensation for contractors working on my house. Thanks to the entire team at GD for helping transform my life.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have already been able to build a new house which I will be moving in with my family few days from now. Having a new house was my primary concern from the beginning when I started recieving payments. Now that the house is completed, my new goal before recieving this transfer is to invest into cassava farming. Through this, I will be able to make more profits that will sustain me and my family when I shall have harvested the cassava and process it into Fufu and sell it on the market.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does well by visiting every house in the community to determine the eligiblity of households. In this way no household will be left out except where the household refuses to be registered into the program. GiveDirectly also does well by having those different work groups or departments in the organization that constantly visit our community to ask if a recipient has any problem in getting his/her transfer so that it can be solve immediately.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With the recent transfer, I was able to buy cassava sticks from other farmers to plant on my farm. Through the same transfer I was able to paid contractors to brush and clear the farm for me. I had long wished to do cassava farming but getting the finance to pay contractors had been a serious challenge for me. Thank God that this organization (GiveDirectly) came at the time I had lost all hope of making cassava farm to empower me with this huge amount of money to start a brand new life.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was still in bed early that faithful morning when I heard my neighbours shouting that they have received transfer from GiveDirectly. I hurriedly got up from bed and rushed to the mission where we normally received network to check our phones for messages. Suddenly, I received an alert that I have also received transfer from GD. I was so amazed and overwhelmed with joy. I ran bare-footed back to town and started celebrating with the rest of the town's people who had also received transfer as well. What a memorable night that was!
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have always dreamed of building a big and comfortable house for my family and I to move in. Moreover, I have also desired to make a very large farm this year in order to have enough products for consumption and sale respectively. Nevertheless, the possibility of achieving both was very slim due to low finances. However, with GD transfers, I will be able to simultaneously accomplish both. Building a house and expanding my farm land has been the biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving transfer from GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Two of my major goals this year has always been to build a bigger house and also make a larger farm. I didn't have enough money to achieve both targets. However, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought 2 bundles of zinc for $21,000LD. I also used portion of my transfer to purchase 1 carton of nail for roofing purposes. My balance transfer was used to pay workers to brush a huge parcel of land for farming purposes.
