What did you spend your third transfer on?
I am currently using my third transfer to extend my main house. I have been living in a very tiny house that could not accommodate us well. I would like to have a bigger house of 3 rooms that can accommodate all my household members with a high level of privacy that we need in life.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
People thought, including my parents that my dowry couldn't be paid since as couple, we lacked money to pay the dowry and make my relationship legitimate. Since the dowry was paid, my parents have been very happy and excited-they call us frequently to find out how we are fairing in life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, I am happy that Give Directly gives a significant amount of money that enables us make a tramendous step in life. However, we wouldn't like the program to end since it changes peoples' lives.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been in that I have been legitimately married according to our Luo customs. In Luo culture one is only recognized married after the dowry is fully paid. I am very glad!

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on buying sofa set seats 7,500 KES. I bought household expenditures. I also paid school fees for my child who is in primary school.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my first transfer, I felt very happy since I was certain of my plans coming to a reality which I couldn't achieve before due to lack of money and being the last person to get the money from my village, it felt like I was amongst the luckiest forgotten sheep.

The biggest hardship I currently face is how to get food for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening and especially when I go to sleep. My husband is quarrelsome so when I go to sleep I have peace.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will help me in building a good house,buy livestock, purchase furniture.
