How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My children were sent home from school due to lack of finances to pay their tuition. I could not also continue my house project due to low income. Nonetheless, with GD transfers, I was able to pay my children yearly tuition. Furthermore, I bought one bundle of zinc to complete the roofing process of my new house. I am grateful to GD for transforming my life.

From my own point of view, GD method of choosing well deserved household to benefit from this program is unparalleled. They give poor people like us hope by empowering us with money. I am very pleased with GD cash transfers. So far, GiveDirectly has done everything almost perfectly.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Living in a house made of mud and thatches on roofing is a situation that people see themselves in because of the limited means of accumulating finance... And this is the situation my wife and I saw ourselves in many years ago up to present. We built this mud and thatches house in 2007. The house is a an embarrassment to us because of the countless leakages it has . During rainy season, we always suffered no matter how frequently I have to reduce the leakages to a minimum level. Amelia Korkpo and I have been thinking on how to build ourselves a modern house whenever we have the mean to do so . With the availability of cash from GiveDirectly unconditional cash transfer to us , we will fulfill our dream by putting our cash in construction materials to build a house .
What is the happiest part of your day?
Regardless of the difficulties we encountered on a daily busy , I usually feel happy whenever I play music . Music actually amuse me and I always play it to reduce my stress . And that is the only thing that brought me happiness....
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My challenges now is the illnesses I have since last year up to present that have stopped me from farming activities. I am suffering from low pressure and typhoid , according to the doctor results from a Cheese clinic in Buchanan where I was diagnosed with the above sicknesses. Because of my inability to do farming work actively, my house has no food thereby making living conditions miserable for my family and I.
