How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Since receiving money from GD, my life has changed for the better. I now live a happy life because I do not have to worry about food. I managed to buy more food for my house unlike before the transfer when I could go to better on an empty stomach.
The transfer also changed my life in terms of clothing. I have bought some new clothes for my entire family. I also have some money which I have saved so that I can be using it in buying my day to day needs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I feel like GD is doing very well by providing rural communities with money. I received money from GD and the money has been of great help. Other NGOs when they come in this village, they just select few people and pass me by when initiating their program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My plan was to use my second transfer to build a house. When I received my transfer, I bought all required materials for the house project such as a wire, nails and timber. I also paid part of the money as a deposit to the builders. He is expected to start the job today and I have saved part of the money to pay him when the job is done.
I also bought 2 bags of food to add on the food that I already had.
