How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it would have been becasue it has empowered me to send my children to school. Currently, my two daughters are in university, the elder one in the third year and the other one joined recently. I am so hopeful and happier becasue it was not for this organization she would be at home till now. This is becasue I am jobless and we only depend on my souse wh works on casual jobs and the little he earns could not be enough to cater for both of them in their school fees. Therefore I am happy because so long as they are both in school now, I will still be seeking help from the wellwishers and anyone and I am positive they will finish their studies.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does perfectly well in my village in so many ways. One, before I recived the money, I was well informed on how best I can utilize it without misusing even a single coin. Through the learnings, I was able to manage them from the start till the end. So far this is the best organization I have ever come across in my life and may God continue to bless GiveDirectly
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my second transfer on clearing the school fees for my two daughters who are in university. Also, I took KES 10000 of the money on buying stationery for them and their upkeep while in school. Also with the remaining amount of money, I am using ut in buying enough foodstuffs for my children and some other household items such as decent clothes.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I saw a message on my phone early in the morning and on checking, I realised that I had received my first transfer from GiveDirectly. I was greatly overjoyed since this money would help me to pay for my sons tuition fees.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have two sons who are currently in the University and raising their tuition fees has not been easy. Receiving this transfer from GiveDirectly was a great relief because I was able to pay KES 50000 for their fees in advance. I am now at peace because I have ample time to prepare for their next semester, which makes it to be the biggest difference in my daily life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent KES 50000 of my first transfer to pay for my sons tuition fees in advance. They are currently not studying because of the pandemic, but I am at peace because I will not be troubled raising their fees when they resume. This will help them to comfortably continue with their studies without any interruptions. I spent the remaining amount to buy foodstuffs for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
School fees has been a big burden to me .This money has come as a big relief especially when children will be resuming school. I have two children in college who need school fees. I will then buy two cows which will produce milk and help me later in paying school fees when the herd multiplies. I will use 300 USD for school fees and 300 USD to buy the two cows.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is the morning. Seeing a new day feeling healthy is enough motivation for the day. I spend the morning hours doing the house chores before embarking on farm work.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
As a farmer, it has been very disappointing cultivating my farm and getting very little from it. This has made me struggle in paying school fees since I have no surplus produce to sell. The low yields has been mainly as a result of lack of rains.
