What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy two cows and some clothings, and I also secured a piece of land for myself.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has helped change my life. I was able to acquire assets and buy basic needs with the cash transfer. I am so happy for the cash transfer my life has a more promising future ahead. Givedirectly should continue to serve and help the needy.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If you could look at me back then before I received the cash transfers, I looked so miserable and depressed. But as we speak now I am very healthy and leading a very comfortable life.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to pay for my mortgaged land which was worth 1,200,000 UGX, and I also bought a cow at 400,000 UGX , and then I spent 100,000 UGX to buy household items and food for myself.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very excited and very happy for the cash transfer. I thank GD for giving me this cash transfer.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life is much better than before. I can buy new clothes and I now sleep like a normal human being.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i have faced is growing up as an orphan. My parents died and later on, my uncles forced me out of school in primary six to graze cattle.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Evening time is my best and happiest moment. It is the time i go for evening walks. Our village trading centre is normally my final destination after returning from my agricultural products' bussiness .This is where i meet my colleagues and play "omweso" game.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means owning a family. I will be able to get a new member in my household. I intend to buy cattle for my traditional marriage so that we can settle as a family.
