How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I now have milk in my homestead. I plan to own a piece of land soon. I have afforded clothing that I used not to afford. These are the differences that GD transfers have brought in my life. I am optimistic for a better life too. I did not have much hope earlier due to the poverty that was staring at our faces. We are optimistic to advance our lives because the cash has made things to happen for us that were not happening before. We are grateful for this.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly is doing a good work in my view. They help people by enabling them to meet the needs they have by giving them cash directly. I do not see something that GD may not be doing well. I wish GiveDirectly lots of blessings from God for helping us.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I have saved the second transfer that GiveDirectly sent me. We plan to buy a piece of land. We are currently squeezed in our ancestral land and we feel we need some space to plant fodder for our 2 cows ( had 1 initially, bought 1 with first GD funds). Thank you for the funds.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that we have a cow. This is a source of income for us and the daily expense is no more. Our lives are better than before and more optimistic courtesy of GiveDirectly.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received the transfer when I was at home. I was so happy that God helped us through GiveDirectly and I am grateful.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent a major part of the first transfer that GiveDirectly sent us to buy a cow because we did not have any. We had been buying milk each day but now we have enough for consumption and sale. I also bought clothes, shoes, food ( rice, maize, cooking oil, beans, salt, sugar and tea leaves), utensils (cooking pots, cups and plates) toiletries (soap, washing powder and petroleum jelly) for my family. These are the things that we needed and the funds helped us to buy them.
