How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I did not have any new goals before receiving this payment. My old goal was to build a new house and to see my children becoming future leaders. I can only achieve those goals when I have enough money. In that I will be able to sponsor my children education until they shall have graduated. Yet, I have not been able to do those things due to the lack of money. I am so grateful for this GiveDirectly program. Our dreams will become a reality. Our lives will improve for the best.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does not do anything wrongly. It's program has changed our lives and given us better lives. This something we will forever be grateful to God for.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I came from the farm in the evening I received a message notification while sitting at the front of my house. I took the phone to check what message it was. To my surprise, it was the mobile money message from GiveDirectly. I shouted-yes with joy causing my wife to ask what the shouting was about and I told her it was the cash transfer from GiveDirectly that we have been eagerly waiting for.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
For many years now I have not been able to buy a single sheet of zinc despite the bad condition the house is in. My challenge has been the lack money to buy zinc as farming is the only source of livelihood for me and my family. As seeing, I have now on hand two bundles of which I bought from the money GiveDirectly gave me. From the very day I received this money, I feel so relieved in my body. May God richly continues to bless GiveDirectly so that the organization can continue help the poor.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
This recent transfer that I received my wife and I decided that we purchase zinc with it. When my house is covered with zinc I will not have to travel about three hours distance into the bush to cut thatch again instead I will now use those times to do other things. I have been traveling three hours to cut thatch before every rainy season begins to replace the old ones on my roof. I am so grateful for this opportunity and I am going to make a maximum use of it.

The fact that I have life, I am happy. Moreover I do not owe anyone in this community so I am happy for the freedom I have.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
