How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My new goal is to build a new house because the one I am living in is not In a good condition and the position it's in is embarrassing because it was built on the main road. I have purchased most of the building materials needed to start the process so that I can achieve my goal.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I never receive such amount of money in my life. My house was in a bad condition and need renovation. I have been working hard to save money for the renovation of my house but I could not due to hardship. Givedrectly took me by surprise and transfer a huge amount of forty thousand three hundred and seventy five Liberia dollars to my mobile money account as first payment. I bought two bundles of zinc and other materials for my house. I am happy that I am now able to repair my roof. When I receive my remaining money from Givedrectly as per schedule, I will focus on the schooling of my children and make sure that they have a better future to help me when I am old.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
One bag of fertilizer, and two half bags of rice, and transported these items to my village.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I planned to renovate my house and if some money remains I intend to establish a business should I be qualified to receive money from Givedirectly. As you can see from my house photo, the house is already broken down on us.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The celebration of Ramadan or Mubarak this year made us happy for the past six months because during this celebration, we were presented with gifts from family, friends and well wishers.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Some of the challenges we are face with now is my children tuition fees payment, the renovation of our house and inadequacy of food for our household. The children are many and that providing education for them has now become unbearable. More so, portion of our house has fallen and we have no money to rebuild it. Not to mention, providing daily sustenance is highly unlikely for us these days as the little cassava farm we were depended on didn't yield enough this year.
