How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Ever since I received the transfers, I have realised so much peace in my life and with my family. In the past before the transfers, we used to have little quarrels in the family on very petty issues. I would disagree with my husband on many issues because life was very frustrating for us. There was nothing going on in our lives. When I received the transfers and used the money to handle most of urgent needs, there has been peace in the family. We agree even on the things we used to argue on in the past. We rarely quarrel and I enjoy the company of my family more.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am very pleased with the fact that GD was issuing transfers to everyone in the village. Unlike most of Government aids, GD ensured they reached all th eligible household. Government aids are always biased and they have set the preference on who to receive the benefit. GD had no preference and everyone got their transfer. This was really good idea. For me, there is nothing I feel GD should improve on.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer to pay for three months of house rent for a house I stay in. I am currently in college and I did not manage to get space in the facility hostels hence I had to rent from outside. My husband has been the one paying the rent though through a lot of struggle since he does not have a stable income. At the time I was receiving the transfer, I had three months rent arrears which I had not paid. I feared soon I will be forced out of the house. I thank GD for bailing me out through the transfers. I also paid fees arrears so that at the time when I will be doing my final examinations, my certificate would not be detained in school for lack of fees arrears. The rest I used on buying a water tank which has brought a lot of change in my life. Before the transfers, my children would have to come from a school in the evening is when they would go to look for water especially in the dry seasons. It was a struggle for them. I did not like the situation that's why I used my transfer to buy a water tank. My children no longer struggle as they used to.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life has really changed in that I feel my mind is now more stable than before. This is because, I no longer have stress. I now know for sure that I will not only have sufficient milk for my family consumption but also the income that we will be generating from the sale of milk will be able sort most of my college needs such as rent and upkeep
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received the transfers, I was filled with joy because I knew that the burden of buying milk was over. The money we would have spent will be channelled to other needs for the family
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my transfers to purchase a dairy cow. I had all album along wished of owning a cow since we normally incur a lot of expenses purchasing milk for my family. I also bought some ceiling boards for completion of our house as well as furniture and other household necessities. The remaining amount I used it to purchase some foodstuff which will last us for a longer period of time

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am a University student and as such my family solely depends on my husband's income from his teaching job.With all the home expenses including paying for my University fees,my spouse has been strained alot and has not even been able to start up an investment.Receiving this money means that my fees for the remaining two years will be paid and the money that would have gone to it ,we will be able to invest in Dairy farming-a venture that my spouse and I have always dreamt of doing!
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening.My day is often long and mostly entails household chores as well as tilling the garden,amidst giving my toddler all the attention he needs.At the end of the day,I am tired but at the same time happy.This is because in the evening when my spouse is back from work,I prepare a delicious meal which we share as we talk over the experiences of the day.Seeing my family happy together makes me happy and wee then thank God for another succesful day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Providing for our daily needs as well as school fees has greatly derailed our development as a family.Every time my spouse has money,his first consideration is my university fees and basic needs for our two-year old son and I.Doing this has not even allowed us to own our own dairy cow which we have always wanted to have so that our son can be well nourished as well have a small income from the sale of milk.As such,we have been forced to spare money every month to buy milk and this is sometimes difficult.This is the biggest challenge I have faced
