How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am current using a torch at night for light which is expensive to maintain because the dry cells need to be replaced. However, the GiveDirectly's cash has made it possible for my to acquire a solar. When successfully installed, it's going to save me from buying dry cells weekly and its light is going to covered the whole house at once. Secondly, I was in position to acquire 5 windows at that have given me good aeration within the house unlike before when I had limited aeration because the provision for windows was blocked with bricks.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well to give my cash that I have spent to buy solar and windows. GiveDirectly has only done well to me.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase a cow, solar and clothes for the children. I have not yet spent UGX 182,000 but I plan to spend it for paying labour for installing the solar and the lacking wires.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Through this financial support, I was enable to buy 5 windows for my house and I am in the process of fitting windows, plastering and flooring the house. I am expecting to sleep in well ventilated, lite and clean house once completed. Prior to receiving this transfer, I didn't have enough money to buy windows and cement that kept me in dusty and poorly ventilated house for more than 6 years.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I was over whelmed by joy because I knew I had got money that would enable me complete my house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase 5 windows, 15 bags of cement, sand, household items(utensils and 2 jerry cans). In addition, I paid school foods for my two child and bought food items.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to complete the construction of my house, take care of the education needs of my children and buy a cow that can reproduce. This will be security for me and my children in future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the noon time when I am with fellow Christian women. We are able to share and build ourselves spiritually.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is poverty. Even just providing basic needs for my household is a very big charllage simply because I do not have a clear source of income. Caltication alone is not enough to sustain my family needs.
