What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money is a very welcome development in my life. I believe that it is special that GiveDirectly decided to give us these cash transfers. I plan to use build a big house that will accommodate my family. I have been trying to build a house but it has not been possible due to lack of money.
What is the happiest part of your day?
For the last six months things have not been good for me. I have not been happy because my husband has not been able to make enough money so there is nothing that has brought me joy in the past six months.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge that I am currently facing is poverty. I face this challenge because of lack of money. Sometimes I am able to make MK80,000. This money is not enough because I have 4 children and I have to take care of all of them.
