What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I used to work as a driver but I retired after the vehicle was sold. I also had complications that led to surgery. I can not engage on had activities but only light casual jobs. I have a family of four members with two being grandchildren who are schooling. I will use $50 to start poultry farming. This will bring sustainable income to me. I will also use $500 to build a house . I am currently living in a house that has a leaking roof and it really affects me during rain season. The remaining amount will help.me raise school fees for the grand daughters who are at primary and secondary school respectively.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My family has been going without food for sometimes due to lack of money to buy floor. However, In October 2023, we received rain and planted maize on my one acre piece of land and harvested two bags of maize each 90kg. The food will sustain the family for the next five months. The harvest brought happiness in my life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Source of reliable income is the challenge I am currently facing. I used to work as a driver but the owner of the vehicle I used to driver sold it. I am currently at home doing casual jobs. I can take even a whole month without any job. This has made my two grand daughters to miss classes sometimes.
