How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The cash transfers empowered us to pay off all our debts thus enabling us reposses the two farm lands that had been attached as collateral. Previously, we had limited farm lands as a result of the huge debt. We now feel peaceful after securing the farm lands.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In observation, GiveDirectly did well to send unconditional cash transfers to the people. On the otherhand I did not observe any wrong doings committed by GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of the second cash transfer to pay off debts worth UGX 1000000 and UGX 600000 was spent on plastering the house.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is happiness to see that I now have an iron sheet roofed house because sleeping under a grass thatched house is stressful especially during rainy season.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
That moment I received my money, I felt so happy because this money would be an uplift for my livelihood.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My first transfer was spent to buy building materials such as bricks, cement, timber, nails, and iron sheets that were used to construct a house. I aslo bought a cow to be an asset at home.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will spend it for buying cows. These cows will produce and multiply. These will be my source of earning by sellinng them to raise money for sorting out any pressing issues incase need arises.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My favourite hours is afternoon especially after lunch. I relax while playing with my children and has become physical relief which allows me plan well.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is how to educate my children. My poverty level is so much alarming to the extent that I can not afford providing scholastic materials and paying fees for the children studying in Gill primary school. This has impacted negatively their Education since they are sent home multiple times a term.
