Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Since we are approaching the end of this project, I am thinking of saving my next transfer so that I would buy a sheep. I believe that this is the best way to invest. The sheep will reproduce and increase in number with time. I will sell offspring in future and develop myself further and stabilize my self financially.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I saved my two months transfers with an intention to pay school fees for my children. This enabled me to clear their school fees for the whole year. This means that my children would not be sent home which will give them ample time to study well. This is the biggest joy as a parent. The fact that they will never be sent home any time soon makes me sleep peacefully.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I believe that in the next six months, the business that I recently started will haver grown because I recently added the new stock with the savings that I had. In addition to that, I also bought a heifer. To me, this is the greatest achievement. I believe that in the next six months it would have matured and started reproducing. This will be an assurance that in the coming months I would start having milk which would help me feed my family and also start earning income by selling the surplus.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different because I have acquired a lighting system for my home. For the last four months, I have been using the transfers to make monthly installments that have enabled me to own a solar lamp. My children have enough time to study at home in the evening without disruption. Initially, we used to share a paraffin lamp that would not allow them to have enough time to study at night. Moreover, the use of paraffin was more expensive and this would sometimes lead to unavailability of the goods for my household. The solar lighting systems are so powerful it can even be used for powering a TV when I get one! It is a cheaper and better source of light for my household than the paraffin lamp.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to start a grocery business in order to sustain my income even after the end of the transfers. I am glad that I have the money that I am going to save and then use it to buy stock and start the business.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the smooth payment of school fees for my children in a secondary school. I have two girls in a secondary school and since I rely on casual jobs with low wages, they would have had many days at home for lack of school fees. But because of the transfers, I am able to pay for them and give them a good education. They are attending their classes every day of the school calendar without interruptions which make me a proud mother.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I will have started a grocery business. I will be also a poultry farmer because I already own some good number of chickens bought using the transfers. My sources of income will be more than last year and the year before I started to benefit from GiveDirectly. Because of this, I am going to be a reliable mother in my family.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that currently I own a solar panel lamp which is used by children when doing their homework in the evening. This has enabled them do their homework without any challenge as compared to the past when at times they could miss to do their homework when I do not get the money to buy paraffin.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My goal for the next four months is to build a store room. This is because currently we are living in a small room. This is a challenge because it is congested and it is where we store farm produce during the harvest season. In the next four months, I will be harvesting maize and I will be able to store them well thus reduces the congestion at home.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that in the past I used to use kerosene lamp. This was a challenge for my family since it was expensive buying paraffin daily using the little money I get from casual jobs. Sometimes I could cook in darkness and my children could even miss to do their homework when I did not have money to buy paraffin. Owning the solar panel lamp has enabled me to save more money and use it to cater for other family needs such as food. My children can now do their homework without any challenge.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I am planning to build a big house. This is because currently we are living in a small house which cannot accommodate all my family members. When my children come for holiday from school , they sleep in my mother-in -law's kitchen and this worries me a lot as they can be attacked on their way when they are going to sleep. During this time, I will have harvested the maize and beans in my farm , sell them and use the money to buy iron sheets and timber which I will use in building a house for them.
