What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
At the moment,my main priority is to rebuild my house which was destroyed with heavy rains and to buy enough food for my family. I have already started moulding bricks for the house. What is remaining now is the iron roof sheets ,cement, glasses and frames for windows. I plan to buy 24 iron sheets which will cost me about 400000mk. I will also buy bags of cement at an estimated amount of 150000mk. I also plan to buy 10 bags of maize, at an estimated amount of 200000mk,and will use the remaining amount of money on any other building expenses of the house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the past 6 months,i was very happy when my first born daughter got enganged in May. It was such joyful moment because my family and friends had gathered to celebrate my daughter and her fiance. In that moment,i was not the miserable widow;i was a proud and happy mother of the bride to be.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am currently facing a lot of challenges. My husband passed on last year in November, leaving me with 3 grandchildren and one of our children, that we were looking after. He was the breadwinner of the house. Ever since he passed,i have been struggling to make ends meet. We had a bad farming season last year due to not having enough rainfall. We harvested only 3 bags of maize which have run out already. To make matters worse, my house was destroyed with heavy rains early february this year, due to cyclone Anna, and i have been living in a temporary shelter with my grandchildren and kid,and i dont know where i will source the money from to rebuild the house.
