Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I have been staying with my spouse for over 3 years without formalizing our marriage which was not fine with me and my parents. However, having received money from GiveDirectly, we were able to acquire 2 cows, 4 goats and UGX 250,000 to clear all the pending dowry. I am very now happy and respected as an official wife to my spouse. Secondly, I have owned a bed and a solar that I didn't have before.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer, I was overwhelmed with joy because I knew the money was going to be used for paying dowry to my parents.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I agreed with my husband to acquire 2 cows and 4 goats that were paid together with UGX 250,000 as dowry to my parents. UGX 400,000 that was left, I bought Household items(a mattress, a bed, bed sheets, clothes and solar).
