How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Ever since I was born, I have never slept on an iron sheets roofed house except at the hospital. I used to envy people who have iron sheets houses but knowing I couldn't manage to have one, i was just praying for a miracle. The coming in of GD program to my village gave me an opportunity to fulfill my dreams. I knew, the program will bring to end all the roofing problems I have been experiencing through out my life
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The program was very well organized
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought bricks, door/window frames, doors and iron sheets together with roofing materials.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money has come at a time when I am deeply in need of it. It has raised hope of survival at a time when I have no where to turn to for help. It will save me and my family from starvation. This cash means that now I will be able to breathe a sigh of relief. Let GiveDirectly help others as well. This kind gesture is something that I do not how I can thank this organisation(GD). Iam grateful and I promise that the money once received will change my life. I will use it to buy food and other household items. I will also start a small scale business of selling fish to sustain my life when GD moves away from our village.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Basically, I am happiest in the evening because it is when we usually have food for the whole family. Most times we eat once a day and it is mostly in the evening.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship in my life has been lack of money to buy food and other household necessities. This is because I do not have a stable source of income.
