Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was laying down in my room, when I saw this massage on my phone saying that, I have received money from GiveDirectly. I was so happy, I being to dance telling God thank you for GiveDirectly, because it has been my plan to build a decent house for my family and I.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since I started receiving money from GiveDirectly, my life is fine, now I am able to build material for my building project and I am also able to pay my children school fees. At first I was unable to do these things for my family and I, because things was not easy.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I withdraw my money from my mobile account, I bought two bundle of zinc to start my building project, for my family and I to have a good living place, then I also pay my three children school fees, because I want them to become someone good tomorrow.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Right now my family and i are going through a lot of hardship. The house we are currently living in is leaking. Whenever it rains, we have to shift our mattresses from one corner to another. I have been planning to change the thatch roof to zinc but i don't have the money to but zinc. I have to do contract for people to pay my children's school fees. Receiving this money will bring relief to my family and i. I will use the frist transfer to buy zinc. The next transfer will be use to buy other building materials. Since i have been planning to build a house, i will use this money to build a new house for My family. This will keep my family and i safe from the rain during the raining season. I will use my last transfer to pay my children's school fees and start a small business.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The last six things haven't been easy for my family. I lost my father and my sister within the course of one month. My sister die December 9, 2021 and my father die January 2, 2022. The death of these two persons who were dear to me broke me down. I am still trying to recover from that trauma. However, the information that Give Directly will be transferring unconditional cash to us brought joy to me. This cash transfer will be a relief for me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major challenges are lack of finances. I have to cut palm nut and make palm oil and sell before I can support my family. It has been my plan to build a house, but the proceed from the palm oil cannot even buy zinc nor other building materials. Moreover, the proceed from the palm oil is what i use to carter to my family daily needs including food and school fees for my children. Sometimes i have to do contract to get money to take care of medical bills whenever any of the family members get sick. The little business i am planning to establish when i receive my cash transfer will bring some relief.
