How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I did not have any source of income before I started receiving the transfers which forced me to always depend on my husband financially. This limited my financial decisions because it was impossible to budget on what I was not certain I would be given. The difference in my life currently is that I am financially independent because I was able to start a doughnuts business when I started receiving the transfers where I earn a daily income. It also feels great to be able to assist in paying the household bills and taking off some burden off my husband.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
Last year, I purchased a solar lighting system on credit which I left back home where we still do not have access to electricity. I am required to pay off the rest of the money on the solar in monthly instalments which I mostly do using my monthly transfers. At the moment, I do not have any new plans other than to keep paying for the solar so that by the time the project ends, I will have completed the entire payment because I know that it will be tough to raise the money from my small doughnuts business.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The most recent transfer I received came at a time when my family was planning to travel upcountry for the Christmas Holidays and there was need to purchase new clothes and shoes for the children. The whole amount was therefore spent on new clothes and shoes that really lifted my children's spirit and put them in the best moods for the Holidays.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it was in that, I have peace of mind. I no longer quarrel about money with my husband because I restored a business that had collapsed a few months ago. The business is currently doing well. I normally sell chapatis and however little I get from this business, it is better than asking for it elsewhere. I am glad because I do not depend on him for everything like I used to do that in most cases resulted in a lot of conflict and misunderstanding. At least I have started making some progress and adding value to my home, for instance, I recently bought a solar lantern through monthly installment. I known that this will help my family.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
I do not have additional goals because I have to finish repaying for the solar lantern loan. I am afraid of even starting a business since it is also a risk, I may end up losing both the capital and end up not paying the loan also. I don't want to take that risk. I might find myself in big trouble in case I try doing that.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my transfer on repaying for a solar lantern loan that I took on installment. I want to finish repaying the amount because their is no other way that I can repay the amount. I can also not think of another project because it will be drained by the loan that I have to pay. Once I am done paying the loan, I can then think of what project could be liable with the amount of capital I will have accumulated at that time.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
We have a house back in the village where we stay when we visit especially during the holidays. Since we do not spend most of our time there, we never invested in most of the household items such
as seats due to low income and more critical responsibilities. This would force us to borrow such items whenever we visited, which was not quite pleasant, so recently, I was able to save from my transfers and bought a set of sofa for the house which would not have been possible without the transfers.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
My husband has no land where he would construct his own house once he leaves his father's compound, so my he has been saving so that he can buy a piece of land back in the village where they are still affordable. My plan is to use my transfers to revive the doughnuts business I put on pause to organize my mother's send-off after she passed away last month then focus on joining hands with my husband to maximize the savings so that we can reach the target amount before the end of the transfers.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When my mother passed away a couple of months ago, I was in dire need of cash for my transportation to the village to attend the funeral, so I took a loan from my mobile banking services because I had no other option. I was not able to repay the loan in time because I still had some other emergencies to take care of such as school fees, but I did so using part of this month's transfer to avoid an accumulation of interest. I used some of the money pay school fees for my children and spent the rest on foodstuff.
