How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
"My life is different now because I was able to acquire a piece of land that I intend to use for commercial farming. And the yields will earn me income in the long run. I am grateful that I received the cash transfers because it has helped me to acquire that land."

"In my opinion GiveDirectly has brought infrastructural development in the community through giving out the cash transfers. However I implore GiveDirectly to follow up physically all households that benefited and confirm if really what the recipient says is true."

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am pursuing a diploma course. This will develop my career.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was full of joy that day when I received the money. I remember I was at school that day, I woke up very early in the morning and knelt down to give praise to God for the miracle.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent 420,000 ugx of my first transfer to pay my tuition fees and I spent 500,000 ugx on buying a plot of land then I lent out 500,000 ugx. The balance of the cash transfer I am spending it on food.

Receiving this money means I will buy land cultivation and settling my family

The happiest part of my day is in the morning hours when I have woken up in good health condition
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of enough money to pay my school fees and that of my children.
