What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used a portion of the transfer to enlarge my retail shop business. I paid my son in high school fee. I also purchased foodstuffs for family consumption.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I now have a large stock of trading goods as such fend for my family with less ado. I've been longing to be in this kind of position but never managed due to financial constraints.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What GD does well is that it reaches out to the poor without involving our corrupt leaders. At the moment I'm not certain of what GD doesn't do well.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my second transfer, I cleared secondary school fees arrears for my son with 25000 KES and used the rest of the money for expanding my cereal shop-selling maize and beans grains. I anticipate to expand this and even open a grocery that I will run concurrently.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that currently, I run a business that generates for me daily income. I can't complain since what I get can sustain our lives. Not even a single day we have gone minus food.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on paying school fees for my son who is in form three and I also spent part of the remaining transfer on boosting my cereal business that acts as my main source of income
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very happy when I received the cash because it gave me hope for taking my son back to school and it also gave me hope of boosting my small business that wasn't doing so well during that particular time

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I would like to spend the transfer on buying two bulls to assist me in ploughing our farm.This will reduce my expenses in farming.Secondly,l would like to use the remaining amount on paying school fees for my children in secondary school.One is form two and the another is in form three.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is owning my current semi- permanent house. Initially, l was staying in grass thatched house that was in a poor state and not enough for my big family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship in my life is paying school fees for eight children school.Six of them are in primary school and two in secondary school.This year they have been sent home twice because of fees balances.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of my day is in the evening.After work, l like spending time with my children.They assist me with the house chores as l prepare them dinner.
