How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I have got 2 arces of land that I am currently cultivating. I do expect increased yields end of this season and I have been relived from the debt burden that I had. Previously, I had only one acre of land that couldn't produce enough yields to support my family hence leaving us in famine.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to give me cash that enabled me take my children to school and pay off my debts. I have not yet noticed anything bad with GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I lent out UGX 1,000,000 in exchange of an arce of land that is acting as security and paid schools fees for 3 of my school going children.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that,I am happy because I paid my children's school fees and there is little interference in their school attendance. Before, I received this cash transfer, I used to stay with my children at home most of the time due to failure to pay their school fees.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my cash transfer, I felt happy because I would be relieved off the burden of looking for school fees.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first cash transfer worth UGX 695.000 for paying school fees for my four children that are both in primary and secondary. I paid a mortgage fee of UGX 200,000 for the land that I had mortgaged for paying our children's school fees. I bought sand and marrum worth UGX 350,000 for renovating my house that I sleep in. The bedding for myself and children that are in boarding school costed UGX 355,000. The balance of UGX 100,000, I spent it on buying food for the family and two saucepans.
