How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is different in that I have been able to budget for my family's needs especially food with ease unlike before due to lack of money we could have a meal in a day which made my family's nutritional status compromised and now I am happy and a healthy woman who is self-empowered.Thanks to GiveDirectly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is to save and buy farm inputs such as manure and seeds. Using these products I am certain of enough yields at the end of the harvest hence I will be able to get enough to feed on meaning with my family members hence our nutritional status will improve because of having balanced diet meals.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Previously, I could engage in casual labour works which were so tiresome and the payment was meagre. I am so happy for the support from the Givedirectly it has really changed my standard of living and it has also been an eye-opener to independence. The biggest difference in my daily life for the past four months is that I have acquired plastic chairs that I am hiring to my villagers who might events such as funerals and weddings . The income from this project has come in handy since I am able to use in providing for my family's needs with ease.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect in the next six months to have enough yields from the harvest. Therefore, accessing food would no longer be a challenge. Before I did not have money to purchase farm inputs such as manure and seeds and, as a result, my family members used to miss meals due to meagre harvest every season.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life was educating my children. Out of nine, I have managed to see four through secondary schools. Lack of an income has been a major challenge to ensuring that all my children get secondary education. After my husband's death things seem to have gotten much worse.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when i get to my vegetable farm. I am always happy when I am in the farm because I know my large family will not go hungry at the end of the day.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I plan to spend most of my transfer on plastering my mud house walls with cement. During rainy season, i spend a lot of my time repairing the walls. Am happy that this will now be a thing of the past.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement in life has been educating four out of my nine children to secondary level.
