How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been working hard to earn enough money and complete my house. It was almost impossible to achieve my dream because of very low income received from selling plantain and banana harvested from my farm. However, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought 3 bundles of zinc, 1 carton of nail and 5 bags of cement to complete my building project and move into my new and comfortable house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own understanding, GiveDirectly has been very transparent in reaching out to poor people like us. Their method of giving us huge amount of money and letting us decide on what to do with it is exceptional. I love GD and I see nothing that they are not doing right.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My priority was to complete my house and move in. Therefore, as soon as I received my transfer, I bought 3 bundles of zinc for $30,600LD. I also used portion of my transfer to purchase 1 carton of nail for roofing and 5 bags of cement to put floor and plaster the walls of my entire house. The balance money was used as transportation of materials and compensation for workers.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I live in my father's house with my husband. The house is not spacious enough to accommodate all of my brothers and sisters along with my husband and I due to limited number of rooms. Meanwhile, I decided to build a house upon receiving my transfer from GD. I used bulk of my transfer to buy 18 gallons of gasoline and saw 62 pieces of plank for the construction of my new house. I've also always wanted to go back to school but couldn't afford to pay my tuition. With GiveDirectly intervention through cash transfer, I was able to register in Yarpah Town Public School.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
All my life, it is the very first time I've seen an organization such as GiveDirectly. They come in our town and give us huge cash we didn't work for; yet they do not accept any favor in return. It looks so unreal to see things like these happen these days. I am so pleased with this program and I don't see any wrong thus far.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Most of my second transfer was used on my building project. I bought 32 pieces of plank (950 × 32= $30,400LD). I also bought 18 gallons of gasoline (18 × $850 = $15,300LD. The little money I've been saving before I received my transfer from GiveDirectly was used to do my registration in Yarpah's Town Public School. I'm so pleased having been able to accomplished all of these through GD financial assistance.
