How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have new goals that i didn't have before receiving this transfer i have managed to buy house building materials like ironsheet, bricks, windows, doors and door flames. As it is things are very expensive and for the past years i have wanting to build a house because i don't have any, when this opportunity presented its self i knew it right away that the things i ever wished will come into reality because on my own i can't raise such a big amount of money. I also managed to change my sleeping place so i bought an 8 inch matress, bedsheets, covers and a blanket.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so excited and very grateful for the program...The money meant a lot to me and my household as it was a means of ending some of the major challenges that I have been facing such as purchasing food.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is that we will now be able to build a new house with iron sheets and we now have enough food for the entire household.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the cash to pay labourers who will be making bricks so that I can build a new house..I have also bought building materials in advance such as iron sheets. I then bought farming tools such as hoes, panga knives..The remaining cash has been saved to be used at household level.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will be a huge relief as I have molded bricks for a new house and surely this money will be for buying materials for the house such as cement, iron sheets and window panes
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest whenever I can afford casual labour so that i can buy food for my kids
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I do not have a proper house as the house I currently live in is really small and in bad shape. And it badly leaks during heavy which makes living in it very uncomfortable
