What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer to buy building materials like cement, iron sheets and nails which I have used to build a pit latrine in my compound, I paid laborers who built the latrine. I bought two sacks of maize for consumption and the remaining amount, I spent to restock my business which had long collapsed
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I would not have received the transfer, I would not have build a pit latrine and my kitchen, renovated my house and also would not be owning a business right now which is my major of income. Thank you GD for the transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has brought alot of developments in our community through the transfers which enabled recipients to build houses. I have not seen anything that GD did not do well.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I plan to revive my vegetables business for a stable income. I will also spend part of the transfers in building a kitchen where my children can also sleep in because they are now grown ups and it is not good to live with them in the same small house as I have now.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is that I was able to make a house and clear school fees for my children after selling a piece of land. I never had a house and my children were not regular in school because of fee problems.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship is getting a source of income since their are no opportunities for the casual jobs that we greatly rely on.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am rarely happy because I am always possessed with the thoughts on how to earn a living.
