Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
This town don't have network coverage so at times, we all go to a particular area that has coverage. One day, while I was on my farm, my brother came running to me and he told me that others have started receiving the GD money including him. He quickly told me to give my phone so he could get to the network coverage area since I didn't know how to read and write. When my brother took my phone, I later saw him running towards me saying "GIVE DIRECTLY has done it, they have sent us the money". When I heard this, I started leaping with joy and I was so excited knowing that I have gotten solutions to my problems, which includes paying my sons tuition and also taking care of my son who has a broken leg.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life now is I go to bed and don't have to cry my worries to sleep like I did before. Everyday I live with the hope that my son's leg is going to be okay again and my sons are going to get their education. I now have more confidence and smiles in my face every day unlike before.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I want to take my son to a herbalist. I have also spent some of my transfer to have my sons in school for this school year. I will also buy a parcel of land from my transfer.
