Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I can say that GiveDirectly has transformed my life. I feel happy and more comfortable. I sleep on a comfortable bed and more so I rennovated the house. Previously, my house was in a very poor state. The iron sheets had rusted and it was leaking all over.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I heard a message tone that night but I could not read. However, the next day I went to my brother who read it for me. I was very happy when I heard the message.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I purchased iron sheets worth UGX 319000 and mattress worth UGX 75000 and a bed worth UGX 100000 and bed sheets worth UGX 25000. I bought timber worth UGX 50000. I spent transport worth UGX 55000. I spent UGX 30000 on sand. I paid the builder UGX 100000. The remaining cash transfer was spent on food and other necessities which I cannot recall.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means to build a better iron-roofed house. My house leaks too much whenever it rains and I end up folding the beddings hence missing sleep. Once I put a better iron-roofed house, I will have enough rest and sleep at night.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My favourite part of the day is afternoon hours. I prepare my food and enjoy it. This gives me energy to continue planing.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of money. Iam an old man with less energy to do casual work yet that could be the only source earning in my village. I sturb with only asingle meal a day and this is affecting my health.
