What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on paying maternity bill for my daughter-in-law in a private hospital when public hospitals were on strike. I also bought a bull and a cow for ploughing and milking respectively.I am very happy that I received the momey and spent on my own needs.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has a big difference generally. I have done so much that I could have not done if I did not receive the transfer. I own healthy cows, have educated my dependants and living peacefully than before I received the money.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I my opinion GD does well in sending unconditional transfers that has really improved our lives in various aspects. GiveDirectly should continue with this programme in my community to completely eradicate poverty.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I received my token payment, I cleared secondary school fees for my son with 6000 KES, I spent 2500 KES on a sheep, 1390 KES on a sack of maize.
What are you planning to spend your upcoming transfer on?
I will spend my upcoming lumpsum payment on some oxen, expand my second-hand clothes business and pay school fees for my children.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to buy sand, cement, timber, round poles, nails and iron roofing sheets which I will use to build a better house for my family. The remaining transfers will be used to increase the quantity of clothes that I buy at wholesale prices. I will then retail the clothes at various markets and the profits will be used to pay school fees for my children.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having started a small business selling second hand clothes and after diligently saving my earnings for a while I was able to pay dowry.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of enough money to pay school fees for my son who is in secondary school, if I am unable to raise the required fees he may have to defer his studies.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening after finishing any tasks that I had planned for the day. I usually get to relax with my family as we wait for dinner to be ready and this makes me very happy.
