Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the happiness and pride I have for having paid for my daughter's school fee. This has relieved me of the worries I had before on how to raise money for her college fee so that she could not be sent out of college hence she has enough time for her studies.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I don't always switch off my phone at night, as I was sleeping I was woken up by a vibration from the phone. I reluctantly reached the phone and to my surprise, it was a confirmation message that I had received money from GiveDirectly. I felt so happy, knelt to thank God for the miracle and also to ask God to bless GiveDirectly abundantly so that they can continue helping the needy.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My daughter who is in college owed the college a huge amount of college fee balance and this was going to interfere with her studies because she risked being sent back home for school fee. Having relied on casual work as the only source of income, it was challenging to raise enough money for her college fee thus the huge college fee arrears. The moment when I received the first transfer I used part of it to pay for her college fee so that she couldn't be sent back home for college fee which would definitely interfere with her studies. A portion of the money I used to purchase seats because I didn't have seats but only a wooden bench that couldn't be enough for my large family forcing some of us to sit on the ground.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will bring great changes in my household. I am going to repair my house and pay school fee for my son in college.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the evening after dinner when going to bed to have a rest as I prepare for the following day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is the challenge of raising money to pay school fee for my children especially the one in college. I am a widow so I carry the burden of the household myself which is very cumbersome because I do not have a stable source of income.
