How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The house completion is what I hope to achieve in the next year and above. I want this life of suffering to end and I am happy that GiveDirectly has given this money which will change my life a lot. Moving into my new house will keep sickness away from my children. I also hope to see my cocoa farm producing well so that I will sell and get more money to feed my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly is helping us to own properties and solve other problems we are faced with through the cash they send to us. They know how to talk to us calmly and they do not pick and choose. They do not steal from us either. GiveDirectly doesn't have a bad name.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought 3 bundles of zinc to build a new house for my family and I. The current house I stay in has leakages all over. Even if I put new thatch (parpo) on the roof, it still leaks. Whenever rain falls, it drops in the house similar way it drops outside. This has caused my children to experience severe cold thus leading to cough. Having a new house with zinc roof will change our lives for the better. I so spent some of my transfer on my cocoa farm to help sustain me in the future.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am qualify to receive the transfer I will use portion of my transfer to send my children to school to become good leader for the me and the nation in the future, I will use some to build new structure for my family and myself. I will use some to build new structure for my family and I to live good life because the one that my family and myself are living in presently is very old and is not safe for my family and I now but base on the financial problem I can not build new house now till I get my transfer.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months I was certain of Give Directly coming to our community to help us with transfer through their program. We have been hearing of so many good things that have happened in the lives of neighbouring communities so the news of GiveDirectly coming brought me so much joy and happiness.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The greatest challenge we as a community are face with is road connectivities. Our community has been longing so much for a better road, and I believe most of our problems will be solve when there's a proper road. Sometimes we hear of many NGO'S visiting nearby villages precisely villages that are very close to the road but because of the distance and bad road to Jelipo they only promise but yet to fulfilled. As such, our farm crops is being sold for less price in the village because of the same road construction.
