How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that am no longer worried, I have been able to resolve all the issues that were stressing me. There is now peace in my family because am able to provide basic needs to my family, my wife no longer complains.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion Give Directly did well to give me unconditional cash that has relieved me from poverty. I have nothing to say on what they do not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying cement and nails at UGX 600,000, I payed constructors UGX 450,000 and a debt of UGX 550,000. The balance of the money I spent on food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I'm now stree free because I have cleared the debt I had which was stressing me.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt very happy because I was sure that problems ( debts) in my family are going to be solved.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have spent my first transfer on making bricks at UGX 400,000, paid debt of UGX 400,000, treatment at UGX 100,000, funeral UGX 500,000 and iron sheets at 300,000.

Receiving this money means to build a permanent iron-roofed house. This will provide my family with better accommodation.

The happiest part of the day is evening hours while Iam chatting interesting stories with neighbours.

The biggest hardship I face is lack of enough money for building a better ironroofed house.
